Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today asked Sports Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar to chalk out a proper scheme to reward those who are fairing well nationally and internationally in sports.
"There should be proper reward mechanism for those who fair well nationally and internationally," Parrikar told Ajgaonkar on the floor of the House.
He said those who show special excellence in sports would be given priority in government employment.

"You send me the proposal, I will approve it. I will assure that there will be no shortage of finance for these schemes," Parrikar said.
Talking about printing and stationery department, the chief minister said "we need to modernise printing press department but its functioning should be curtailed to certain documents like budget documents, confidential documents and others."
"The printing press should have modern equipment but should have comprehensive mandate. The rest has to be outsourced," he said.
"We will fund the modernisation of printing press but at the same time we will scrap the traditional posts which are not required. We will not remove anyone from the existing post but when someone gets retired, we will not fill those posts and scrap them," the chief minister assured the House.
