Commission agent shot dead in Ludhiana

A commission agent was shot dead allegedly by a motorcycle-borne youth at Salem Tabri locality here today, police said.

According to an eyewitness, the incident took place when Gharnjit Singh Chaudhry was sitting in a shop.

Chaudhry was rushed to the Christian Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the police said.

Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill said the assailant had been identified.

The police suspect that personal enmity could be the reason behind the killing, he said.
