Acting on complaints against realty major Unitech for allegedly delaying housing projects, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today issued directions for setting up a committee under Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner for taking stock of all assets and liabilities of the firm within the country and abroad.
Khattar made the announcement during the monthly meeting of the district grievances committee in Gurgaon, an official release said.
In the meeting, pending complaints of residents and allottees of Uniworld Garden-2, Nirwana Country Sector-50, South City-2 developed by Unitech were taken up.

Khattar was informed that Unitech was allegedly not honoring its commitments and was delaying the projects, causing losses to the allottees.
Allottees of Uniworld Garden-2 in Sector-47 apprised Khattar that they were to be given possession of 896 apartments and 159 EWS flats which formed the part of the project but Unitech has not done it till now, it said.
Similarly, the residents of Nirwana Country and South City-2 alleged that Unitech was back-tracking from its commitments.
Ramesh Chandra, who represented Unitech and was present in the meeting, asked for some time to fulfil commitments.
The chief minister asked him to submit within two weeks the details of all projects of Unitech with their timelines and detail of assets and liabilities to the Headquarter of Town and Country Planning Department, the release said.
He said if Unitech failed to do so, the department would be free to take ex-parte decision against it and added the department would look into all the financial aspects of these projects.
Reacting to the complaints of illegal guest houses being run in HUDA and MCG areas, the Chief Minister issued directions to prepare a list of such facilities. He said either the guest houses be shut down or they should be regularised for carrying out commercial activities.
He also said many PG accommodations were being run in Gurgaon for which a policy would be framed by the government as many single people come here for employment and they may not want to take apartments on rent and would prefer to stay in such an accommodation.
