Conductor dies, 20 passengers injured

A bus conductor died and 20 passengers were injured in a road accident in lower Assam's Barpeta district today, police said.

A speeding Guwahati bounded bus met with the accident at Keotkuchi, about two km away from Barpeta town, when it hit a tree and turned turtle as it tried to overtake another vehicle, police said.

The bus conductor died on the spot, while 20 passengers were injured.

The injured, including three critically injured, were admitted to Barpeta Medical College Hospital, doctors treating on them said.
