An unfazed Congress today dared the BJP to raise issues concerning any of the states ruled by it but stuck to its demand for resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh for smooth running of Parliament.

"Congress party is not afraid to discuss any issue...", party spokesman Gaurav Gogoi told reporters in reply to a volley of questions from reporters in connection with the alleged scams in water projects in Assam and Goa and the BJP charges of corruption against the Uttarkhand Chief Minister.

At the same time, he said that it was imperative for Swaraj and others concerned to tender their resignation and follow "Raj dharma" espoused by party patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Besides, he said the remarks of senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar that the party's image has suffered due to corruption charges allegedly involving some of its leaders were supportive of the Congress stand. Kumar's is an "important voice of introspection" in the BJP, he said.

BJP veteran L K Advani too was raising similar issues and the BJP should realise it, he said.

"Swaraj has to abide by service conduct rules", he said when asked to respond to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's statement that she has not violated any law.

Gogoi said that there was "evidence of gross abuse of power". What Sushmaji did in the case was not moral.
