The Congress-DMK alliance for the coming Tamil Nadu assembly elections will usher in a new change in the state, All India Congress Committee Secretary, S Thirunavukkarasu said today.

The alliance, cobbled up at an appropriate time, was very strong and would bring in a change in the political scenario of Tamil Nadu, Thirunavukkarasu told reporters here.

"It will be well and good if Vijayakanth-led DMDK also joined the alliance," he said.

To a query on People's Welfare Front (PWF), he said that the constituent parties put together have two to four per cent of vote share in the state and there was a remote chance of it winning a single seat at the hustings.

When asked about the remarks reportedly made by senior BJP leader, L Ganesan that Congress was supporting terrorist activities, Thirunavukkarasu said it was wrong.

"Let BJP do a self-introspection," he said.
