Congress MP from Kishanganj Maulana Ashrarul Haque will donate his one month salary, besides giving 10 lakhs from MPLAD fund for relief in flood-ravaged Uttarakahand.

The MP told reporters that 10 members of a family who had gone to Kedarnath have returned safely.

One among them Jairaj Sinha said he is alive due to personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and blessing of the almighty.

Sinha alleged that the Bihar government did not take timely action for help of devotees of the state stranded in Uttarakhand.

Haque appealed to other MPs and businessmen to come forward and donate liberally for help of pilgrims stranded in the Himalayan state ravaged by flash flood and landslides.

Hundreds of pilgrims were stranded in Uttarakhand and many of them lost lives in the fury of the nature.

Former Bihar minister Ashwani Kumar Choubey was among the devotees who were stranded in Kedarnath. While he and his family returned home spending days in the Kedarnath temple, two of his kins, bodyguards and personal assistant died in the tragedy.
