The son of a state Congress leader has been shot dead near his village Pure Ojha, Barna, under police station Musafirkhana in Amethi district today, police said.
Manoj Ojha alias Dara Ojha (30), son of Govind Ojha, state secretary of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, was shot at by unidentified men near his village today evening, police said, adding that he died on the spot.
The assailants fled after killing Manoj. Irate over the incident, villagers did not allow police to take the body, after which police officials are camping on the spot.
