Cong leaders thank Sonia for accepting demand for Telangana

Congress leaders from Telangana region organised a public meeting in Adilabad district today to thank Congress President Sonia Gandhi for accepting Telangana's demand for separate statehood.

The meeting is part of a series of public meetings being organised by Congress leaders from Telangana to thank the Congress leadership and gear up for the coming general elections.

Speaking at the meeting today, Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy said that the decision to form a separate Telangana state is a courageous one, as it came in the face of stiff resistance from leaders from Seemandhra and others.

Several state ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders attended the meeting today.
