Cong names candidate for Surajgarh bypoll

Congress today fielded Shravan Kumar as its candidate from Surajgarh Assembly constituency going to bypoll on September 13.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi approved the candidate's name after consultation with PCC President Sachin Pilot, a party spokesperson said here.

The party has already declared its candidate for Weir, Nasirabad, and Kota (South) Assembly seats.

Tomorrow is the last date for filing nomination papers.

Bypolls were necessitated in the four Assembly seats of Rajasthan after the sitting MLAs were elected to Lok Sabha.
