The main opposition Congress in Telangana today urged the Assembly Speaker to implement the High Court order and reinstate its two MLAs, who were expelled from the House in March last.
In a representation submitted to the Speaker, the party said the assembly website was still not showing them as MLAs and the protocol and privileges had not been extended to them.
This was in spite of specific observations by the court in April 17 this year that their membership had been automatically restored and they would continue to be members for the remaining tenure as duly elected MLAs for all practical purposes, it said.
Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy, state Congress president and MLA N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other party MLAs met the Speaker S Madhusudanachary today with this request.
S A Sampath Kumar and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy were expelled in March this year for alleged unruly behaviour.
In a relief to them, the Court on April 17 quashed the notification issued by theLegislature Secretary, expelling them from the State Assembly.
The party requested the Assembly secretary to immediately issue the notification restore all benefits and facilities to the MLAs.
