Three Congress workers were briefly detained by the city police for protesting outside the sports complex in Sama area of the city, where International Yoga Day celebrations were held today, a police official said.
According to Sama police inspector R R Rathva, these Congress workers were released on bail after the celebrations ended.
These Congress workers gathered outside the venue of Yoga Day celebrations wearing black T-shirts to protest against selection of the venue by authorities for the event, the police official said.

"They have gathered outside the sports complex, where Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel was scheduled to attend the event. To register their protest for selecting this venue, they came wearing black T-shirts. We detained them before the event began and released them after a few hours," the police official said.
After being released, one of the detained Congress workers, Devu Patel told PTI that he along with other Congress workers wanted to highlight the issue of the sports complex, which has not been in use for long.
"Authorities had not used it for a long time. On the other hand, they use it for such functions. To highlight the issue, we gathered outside the complex wearing black T-shirts for which the police detained us," Patel said.
