Congress stage stir, BJP gherao chit fund commission office

The Congress and BJP have intensified their stir demanding removal of Justice (Retd) M M Das from heading the Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the chit fund scam and resignation of minister Sanjay Dasburma over CBI notice against him.

While the BJP supporters gheraoed the commission's office in Cuttack and staged a protest-dharna in front of it, Congress activists across the state undertook a similar demonstration.

The Congress activists in large number submitted memoranda to the collectors of their respective districts demanding action against Justice Das and minister Dasburma. The party also submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor S C Jamir.
