Congress today staged a walkout for the day after a no-confidence motion by the Left Front was allowed in the West Bengal Assembly.
Left Front has moved the motion alleging deterioration of law and order situation in the state.
"We have made a walkout for the day as the no-confidence motion by the Left has been accepted, which technically implies that our no-confidence motion rejected. This is nothing but an indicator of a brewing alliance between the TMC and the Left," Congress leader Manas Bhunia said.
"Although there is no specific rule, but it is expected that the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is the leader of the House, should be present when a no confidence motion is moved. But the Chief Minister is not present in the House when the no-confidence motion is moved," he said.
