The police today arrested a Zilla Parishad member belonging to Congress for allegedly beating up a doctor at a government-run hospital in Rajnagar.
Police said Arun Kumar Rout, ZP member of zone-31 of Rajnagar block, had allegedly manhandled the then medical officer of Rajnagar community health centre Bhakti Dipak Pattnaik on February 19.
Rout was later sent to jail following rejection of his bail application by a local court.
