A 44-year-old constable died after accidentally falling into a well without a wall in a field near Kherabad Bypass here, police said today.
Mahesh Chand, a constable posted at Modak police station, died last night after he fell into a 150-feet deep well, Mahendra Meena, SHO, Ramgangamandi police station said.
Chand's body was discovered by the field's owner this morning when he had gone to get water, Meena said, adding that the constable accidentally fell into the well while returning from a village where he had gone to notify a court summon to the party concerned.
Police have recovered the motorcycle of the victim, he said, adding the body has been sent for postmortem.
