Constable injured as service revolver goes off

A police constable, part of the security team of an MLA from Nagaur district, was injured when his service revolver went off accidentally in a bar here.

Constable Udaiveer Singh Shekhawat, who is attached with the security team of BJP MLA from Parbatsar Maan Singh, was with a friend when the incident occurred last night, DCP (West) Ravi said today.

Sekhawat sustained a minor injury on his finger and no one else was hurt in the firing, he said.

The DCP said appropriate action will be taken against the constable under the Arms Act.
