A police constable posted on santry duty at the RSS headquarters here allegedly committed suicide, police said today.
Amol Katore (26), attached to group IV of State Reserve Police Force, who was deployed for security at the RSS headquarters in Mahal area here, shot himslef dead from his service SLR rifle last mid night, they said.
He was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital for treatment where he was declared brought dead.
No suicide note was found, police said adding they were investigating the motive behind the extreme step.
