An Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuth of Kota late on Wednesday evening arrested a Rajasthan police constable posted at Talera Police station in Bundi district and a tout and recovered a bribe amount of Rs 7,000 from their possession.
The constable, through a tout, had demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 to settle a case lodged at the Talera police station but the matter was later fixed at Rs 8,000, of which Rs 1,000 the constable accepted at the time of verification of the complaint.
"Chajuram Gujjar, a native of Jhunjhunu district, currently posted as Rajasthan police constable at Talera police station and a tout identified as Ranglal Gujjar of Lambapiple village of the area were yesterday evening arrested and a bribe amount of Rs 7,000 was recovered from their possession," Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB, Kota Chandrasheel Thakur said.

A trap was laid late yesterday evening and as the tout Ranglal accepted the bribe of Rs 7,000 and handed it over to the constable away from the police station at around 8 pm, ACB personnel, already deployed there, caught the constable and the tout red handed and recovered Rs 7,000 from their possession, ASP Chandrasheel Thakur said.
The accused constable and the tout would be produced before the ACB court later in the day today, ASP Thakur said.
