Construction worker buried alive

A 24-year old construction worker was buried alive when a sand pit he was digging caved in on him at a private industrial unit here today.

Fire Service personnel retrieved the body of Sedhuraman, who was digging the eight-feet deep pit for the erection of a pillar of a structure in Eripakkam when the mishap occurred, police said.

The sandsuddenly caved in and collapsed on him, they said.
