A 35-year-old construction worker was struck dead by lightning when he was working at a house in Gudalur, about 70 km from here.
Amid rains, the man was working when lightning struck him and he sustained burns all over the body, police said.
He was immediately rushed to the Government hospital at Gudalur, where he was declared brought dead, they said.
