Convict commits suicide in Cherlapalli jail

A 22-year-old convict, who allegedly attempted suicide at Cherlapalli Central Prison here, died at a government hospital today.

B Siva Kumar attempted suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell when the jail staff noticed him and rushed him to hospital, stated a release from Cherlapalli Central Prison.

"Doctors found him in unconscious state and after verification declared him dead," it added. Further investigation is on.
