Cop hurt as militants hurl grenade

Constable Anil Kumar was injured in a grenade explosion at Iqbal market near Town Hall Sopore, 55 kms from here, this evening, a police spokesman said.

He said the grenade was hurled by unidentified militants at a police party patrolling the apple town.

The injured cop was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment, the spokesman said.

No no militant outfit has so far claimed responsbility for the attack.
