Copper down by 0.3% on global cues

Subdued domestic demand also affected prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid weak global trend and subdued domestic demand, copper prices were down 0.35% to Rs 330 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August fell Rs 1.15, or 0.35% to Rs 330 per kg in business turnover of 2,999 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November contracts traded lower 50 paise, or 0.15% to Rs 337.25 per kg in 78 lots.

Analysts attributed fall in copper futures to weak global cues and sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Globally, copper dropped 1.3% to 37,560 yuan a metric tonne at Shanghai.
