Copper prices rose further by 0.07 per cent to Rs 369.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions amid rising demand in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June traded higher by 25 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 369.90 per kg in a business turnover of 2,048 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August edged up by 20 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 373.70 per kg in 77 lots.
Market analysts said widening positions by participants owing to surging demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly kept copper prices higher at futures trade.
