Copper futures slide 0.22 pc on muted demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices fell by 0.22 per cent to Rs 446.75 a kg in futures trade today following weak cues from spot markets where the metal softened due to subdued demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November declined by Re 1, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 446.75 per kg in a business turnover of 823 lots.

The metal for delivery in February next year too fell by similar margin to Rs 451.60 per kg in 21 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of a weak trend at domestic spot markets as some industrial metals fell due to weak demand, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
