Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices moved up by 0.43 per cent to Rs 313.45 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in spot demand coupled with a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November was up by Rs 1.35 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 313.45 per kg in a business volume of 1,263 lots.

Metal for delivery in far-month February next year too gained Rs 1.30 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 319.75 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.

Marketmen attributed the rise in copper futures to a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on encouraging China Factory data for last month and rising demand from consuming industries at domestic spot markets.

At the LME, copper traded higher in yesterday's trade.
