Prices of copper and zinc eased by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today on slackened demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
Traders said sentiments turned bearish after copper fell in global markets as demand concerns mounted after Japan unexpectedly sank into a recession and US industrial production declined.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell less than 0.1 per cent to USD 6,704 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc ingot were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 425 and Rs 116-122 per kg, respectively.
