Copra edible rises on good demand

Price of Copra edible Mumbai rose at the spices market here today on good demand from stockists and retailers.

While, black pepper dropped following subdued demand from stockists and traders.

Other spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Copra edible Mumbai surged by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,000 from last Saturday's close Rs 7,900.

However, black pepper slid by Rs 10/5 per kg to Rs 680/765 as against Rs 690/770 previously.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 680/765 (680/765), ginger bleached (per kg) 140 (140), ginger unbleached (per kg) 160 (160), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,500 (6,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,400 (6,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,500 (10,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,000 (7,900).
