Cops called to Mischa Barton's house

Actress Mischa Barton was left stunned when cops arrived at her house in response to an emergency call.

The 'OC' star was at her home here when police showed up to investigate reports of a woman screaming on the property, reported TMZ online.

Law enforcement sources said that the person, who dialled 911 about the emergency mistakenly, gave Barton's address as the location of the disturbance.

Barton's father Paul, who was also present at the time of the incident, feared his daughter had been the victim of a 'swatting' prank, but the unidentified woman in trouble was actually further down the block.
 

In recent weeks, A-listers including Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise have been 'swatted' by crank callers who have reported fake crimes to elicit an urgent police response.
