Cops held accused in 4-year-old murder case in Jharkhand

A special police team today arrested one of the accused in the murder case of Independent MLA Bidesh Singh's nephew from Odnad under Chainpur Police Station in Palamau district almost four years after the incident, police said.

Prem Tiwary, one of the accused in the killing of Karu Singh, was arrested following the arrest of Bandhu Shukla and Gangadhar Shukla from Sukhdevnagar police station in Ranchi yesterday, SP Y S Ramesh said.

Acting on the information provided by the duo, Palamau Special Police team conducted raid in Odnad village and arrested Tiwary, he said.

One country-made pistol and six live cartridges of 1.65mm bore were seized from him, Ramesh said, adding, that all the three were wanted by police in connection with murder, ransom and firing incident.
 

Karu Singh was murdered allegedly by a gang in an area under the Medininagar Police station in 2010.
