Coriander falls on low demand, higher supply

Price for November delivery declined by 0.49%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Coriander prices fell by Rs 73 to Rs 11,800 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions due to sluggish demand amidst higher supply pressure in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, coriander prices for delivery in October fell by Rs 73, or 0.61%, to Rs 11,800 per quintal with open interest of 29,810 lots.

The price for November delivery declined by Rs 60, or 0.49%, to Rs 12,147 per quintal with open interest of 25,140 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand against increased stocks in the spot markets on persistent supplies led to the fall in coriander prices at futures trade.
