Coriander trades higher on pick up in demand

Coriander prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal in lacklustre trade at the Kirana market today on uptick in demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing regions.

Traders attributed the rise in coriander prices to upsurge in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts.

In the national capital, coriander moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 8,500-14,800 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 680-880, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,360 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,400-1,800.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 530-650, cardamom (colour robin) 550-570, cardamom bold 580-590, cardamom extra (bold) 640-650 and cloves 550-650.
