Cottonseed oil cake prices edged higher by Rs 20 to Rs 1,434 per quintal in futures trade on buying back of positions at prevailing levels supported by emerging physical markets.
Market players said besides short covering by operators, pick up in demand for animal feed makers along fall in arrivals too pushed up cottonseed oil cake futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange counter, cottonseed oilcake delivery for the immediate contract retrieved by Rs 20, or 1.41 per cent, to R 1,434 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,980 lots.
April delivery also improved by Rs 17, or 1.18 per cent, to Rs 1,458 per quintal, having the business turnover of 1,51,490 open lots.
