A couple was arrested today for allegedly hunting and killing peacocks in a village here.
Chandrapal and his wife Kamlesh were beaten up by locals in Baigrajpur village and later handed over to the police for hunting and killing peacocks, police said.
Three peacock carcasses were recovered from their possession, they said, adding, the accused had been killing the peacocks for its meat.
A case has been registered against the couple under relevant sections of the IPC.
