last shot at a couple in Moreh town on the international border in Manipur's Chandel district.
The Police said the couple, identified as Dhamendra (35) and wife Chan Devi (32), was shot last night. Dhamendra was shot twice while his spouse was shot once on her upper chest from a point blank range.
The couple was rushed into Moreh district hospital as the condition of the wounded were critical. However, the husband, who was shot twice, succumbed to his injuries on way to the state capital for medical treatment.
Condemning the incident, Moreh-based Chamber of Commerce has closed down all business activities in the major commercial town of Manipur bordering Myanmar.
