Couple slip into gorge in Udhampur, woman dies

A woman was killed and her husband injured today when the couple slipped into a gorge while cutting grass in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pooja Devi (23) and her husband, Raj Singh, were cutting grass in the Ladda mountainous area in Pancheri tehsil of the district when Pooja lost control and slipped into the gorge, police officials said, adding her husband, who tried to save her, also fell down.

They were rushed to Damnote Primary Health Centre where Pooja died later, they said.
