Couple sustains injuries in attack

A couple sustained serious injuries in a bomb attack by a gang at Takkankudi near Vaduvur in this district, police said today.

Police said Karunanidhi and Menaka Gandhi, who suffered serious injuries in the petrol bomb attack by a five member gang last night had been admitted to Government Medical college Hospital at Thanjavur.

Previous enemity was suspected to be the reason for the attack, police said.
