CPI(M) today questioned West Bengal government's silence over the difference in DA between state and central government employees.

"The 7th Pay Commission has been announced and the difference in DA between the state and central government employees is 50 per cent. Instead of acting the state has decided to maintain a complete silence on this matter," CPI (M) state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra said.

The central government had announced the seventh Pay Commission a few days back.

Opposition parties in West Bengal had demanded that the DA of the state government employees also be increased.
