The Puducherry unit of the CPI-M today flayed the Lt Governor's address to the Assembly, saying it "conceals the failure of the AINRC government."
CPI-M's Puducherry State unit secretary V.Perumal claimed in a release here today the Rangasamy-led government here had not spent around Rs 335 crore of Rs 2000 crore approved for fiscal 2013-2014 by the Planning Commission.
Perumal said the Lt Governor had not said anything about the steps taken to get waived Rs 6330 crore that had accumulated over the years as loan from Puducherry to the Centre. When around 23 per cent of the total population were living below poverty line, as had been assessed by Planning Commission in 2004-2005, the claim that the per capita income had increased was 'unpractical and a myth', he said.
