Taking a dig at the Trinamool Congress, the CPI(M) today said the party has no other way but to align with the BJP in order to save itself from the Saradha scam.
Reacting on TMC minister Manjul Krishna Thakur joining the BJP, CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose said, "This is just the beginning. Many more such incidents will happen in future. He has joined from one communal party to another."
In a setback to the TMC ahead of February 13 by-election, Thakur today quit the party, accusing it of functioning in a "whimsical" way, and joined the BJP.
The refugee relief and rehabilitation minister joined the BJP along with his son Subrata Thakur.
