National Commission for Women today said a positive environment needs to be created in the society for women get their right and equal opportunities.
Speaking at a seminar on women empowerment in a college here NCW Chairperson Lalitha Kumarmangalam today said women will get a respectable position in society only when men change perception about the fairer sex.
Former Chairperson of the Commission Mamta Sharma highlighted that the state of Rajasthan stood on fourth position in crimes against women and said the chief minister should focus on improving the situation.
She claimed that women were not safe in the state, particularly in rural areas.
