Cricket betting racket busted; 3 held

With the arrest of three persons, Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket which was active during the ongoing one-day international series between South Africa and England.

The accused, identified as Gurdeep (29), Gitesh (26) and Tinku (26), were arrested yesterday after a tip-off regarding betting was received while the third ODI between South Africa and England was on, DCP (North) Madhur Verma said.

A raid was conducted in the Nehru Vihar area during which police recovered 12 mobile phones, one LCD TV, one laptop, and other articles from the trio's possession.
