Criminal arrested, pistol seized

Police today arrested an alleged criminal and recovered a country made .32-bore pistol and five cartridges from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Narinder Singh of Patiala in Punjab.

Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed him at a checkpost on Chandigarh-Kaimbwala road, while he was travelling in his car. Singh has past criminal records, police said.
