A man wanted in more than 200 cases of heinous crime, including murders and extortions in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, was arrested here.
Vikki alias Mongli, a resident of Najafgarh Delhi, was arrested at Bijwasan area last night, Police Commissioner Alok Mittal said.
Vikki opened fire at the police party and made a futile attempt to escape, he said adding two revolvers and several bullets were seized from his possession.
The accused had a reward of Rs 70,000 on his arrest and 15 cases were registered against him at Gurgaon alone, the official said.
Police in Delhi and UP have been contacted to collect further information about the accused, Mittal said.
