Criminal defamation filed against Nakkeran bi-weekly

Tamil Nadu governmen today filed a criminal defamation case in the Madras High Court against Tamil bi-weekly Nakeeran for publishing an article on the helath condition of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

City Public Prosecutor M L Jegan filed the case.

The article was published in its July 15 issue which was treated by the government as allegedly defamatory.

The case was filed against the Editor of the publication Gopal and Associate Editor Kamaraj.

The court adjourned the case without mentioning date.
