Criminal nabbed after encounter

A wanted criminal was today arrested after an encounter with police, a senior police official said.

Jagdhari Yadav alias Gullu, carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head, and one Gorakh Maurya were surrounded by a police team after which they started firing, Superintendent of Police, Ajay Sahni said.

In the exchange of fire Yadav was injured while the others managed to flee, he said.

During interrogation Yadav told police that he was in the city to kill a former block head.
