Criminal surrenders before court in lawyer's robe

In a dramatic incident, a murder accused surrendered in a court in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district wearing a lawyer's robe, apparently to ensure he enters the court without being arrested.

The chief judicial magistrate, Gopal Tiwari, sent Ruchin Kat to jail and directed him to appear in a sessions court on November 25 for further hearing.

Kat had been charge-sheeted in a 2013 murder case in Datyana village of the district.

Notably, in gangster Vicky Tyagi murder case of 2015, the shooter, Sagar Malik, had come to a court room in a lawyer's dress and shot him dead here.
