Crocodile enters irrigation channel; captured

: A six feet crocodile entered Kadavacheri Irrigation Channel at nearby Pillai Muthaan Chavadi today, causing panic among the ressidents, officials said.

However the residents got together and trapped it using a rope and informed forest department officials, who rushed to the spot.

Forester P.Somasundaram said the 750-kg crocodile had been rescued and let into the Vakkaramaari drinking water lake and it was safe.
