CRPF jawan arrested

A CRPF jawan was arrested for

allegedly trying to kidnap a 13-year-old Dalit girl here, police said today.

The accused, Mukesh Singh was apprehended by the police when he was trying to kidnap the girl from Rajendra Nagar locality here late last night, they said, adding that a gun was also recovered from his possession.

Singh, a resident of Jigirisar village here, was posted in Chattisgarh and had come home on leave.

He has been booked under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. CRPF officials have also been informed of the arrest, they said.
